What is the suggested usage for CBD oil and/ or other products?
As with any health & wellness supplement, we recommend a “start low and go slow” approach for both humans and pets. Below are our recommended usage instructions for our most popular products. Oils – Start with 1/2 dropper of oil under the tongue once in the morning and once in the evening for adults. For best results, hold the oil under the tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing. Increase to 1 full dropper, as needed. Lotions – Apply a nickel-sized amount to the area of interest. Use liberally as needed. Rollers – Apply a small amount (1-2 swipes) directly to area of interest, as needed. Pets – Administer 1/4 dropper of oil (0.25 mL or about 5 drops) per 10 lbs of pet weight once per day.
What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a chemical compound extracted from the cannabis plant. It’s a naturally occurring molecule that has many health benefits, but it doesn’t have any of the psychoactive effects of THC, which people commonly think of in relation to the cannabis plant.
Is CBD legal?
Yes, the United States Farm Bill of 2018 classified plants containing less than 0.3% THC as industrial hemp, making CBD legal in all 50 states. At on Duty, our CBD products are produced under a license from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Industrial Hemp Research Program and can be shipped directly to your door.
How do CBD products work?
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in our body helps our immune, central nervous, and digestive systems maintain balance. When our bodies are deficient in cannabinoids (due to genetics or environmental stress) a variety of neurological conditions can develop. Fortunately, cannabidiol (CBD), can be introduced into our diets when these deficiencies exist, helping to restore our bodies to balance through natural healing. CBD from hemp extract is able to interact with the receptors in our bodies, producing an incredible array of benefits, including pain relief, reducing inflammation, calming anxiety and alleviating stress, eliminating insomnia and more.
What is the difference between Pure & THC free CBD products?
Our Pure (full spectrum) CBD oil contains a full range of beneficial plant extracts — including a very small percentage (<0.3%) of THC — which work together to produce lasting effects when interacting with the endocannabinoid system. Such products, including our Pure CBD oil drops, lotion, and roller, can be used to help with a wide array of ailments including pain, stress, and sleep issues. Though On Duty CBD products are produced under strict quality protocols and third party testing, we are proud to offer a THC Free blend to those who may have extra sensitivities to THC or are simply looking for a taste-neutral experience.
Who uses products with CBD?
The CBD oil market is wildly diverse. From athletes to arthritis sufferers, people around the world are enjoying the benefits of CBD for countless afflictions including those related to anxiety, stress, and sleep.
What are Cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are the chemical compounds found in the Cannabis sativa (hemp) plant. There are around 104 chemical compounds or cannabinoids in the plant.
Will Pure/full spectrum On Duty CBD products cause me to fail a drug test?
In general no, however, as with all hemp products, the chance exists that a positive test for THC could be triggered. Full-spectrum CBD products should only have a very small percentage (<0.3%) of THC, however, unregulated products on the market may contain higher amounts of THC than advertised, making it very important to choose a product, like On Duty, with strict quality protocols and third-party testing.
Pure (full spectrum) CBD products have a very small percentage (<0.3%) of THC.
In theory, if someone consumes large amounts, such as over 1,000 mg of full spectrum CBD for several days in a row they could potentially accumulate enough THC to cause a sensitive test to read positive. To put that amount into perspective, that would be 2 full 500mg bottles per day.
Just like O’Doul’s (near-beer) won’t get you intoxicated, it still has a very small amount of alcohol in it (0.4% compared to 4% for normal beer). If a positive test for THC is a concern, we recommend trying On Duty’s THC free CBD oil which contains 0.0% THC.
Is CBD oil safe for pets?
Yes, we even have a specially formulated K9 CBD oil! CBD is gentle enough to ease the stresses of working dogs (e.g. farm dogs, k-9/police dogs, etc.), yet strong enough to assist with the ailments of aging pets as well. Anecdotal evidence from dog owners suggests CBD can be used to help manage stress and pain in pets. As with all supplements, it is always advisable to check with your veterinarian first.
